About this opportunity
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division awarded a modification to BAE Systems Land & Armaments L.P. to increase the ceiling of Basic Ordering Agreement N00174-23-G-0001 to $91,100,000 for the MK38 MOD 3 Machine Gun Systems program. The contract covers comprehensive support services including open, inspect and repair operations, engineering services, Linux operating system upgrades, MOD2 to MOD3 conversion kits, associated hardware, and spare parts for the MK38 machine gun systems used on U.S. Navy and Coast Guard platforms. The award was made on a sole source basis to BAE Systems due to their exclusive teaming agreement with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the original manufacturer, making them the only qualified source capable of providing the required gun system components and support services. The contract spans fiscal years 2023-2028 with authority expiring on August 29, 2028, ensuring uninterrupted material and support supply for this critical weapons system.
