About this opportunity
The National Park Service, Southeast Region, issued a Notice of Intent to Award a Firm Fixed Price contract for Eastern Red Cedar Split Rails to replace approximately 2,100 linear feet of deteriorated split rail fencing at Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument in Nancy, Kentucky, with a Total Small Business set-aside. The National Park Service has determined the incumbent contractor is the sole source capable of providing fencing that precisely matches the existing installation in materials, dimensions, finish, hardware, and appearance. Procuring from another source would introduce discrepancies and risk compatibility with existing fence sections. The project addresses deferred maintenance and restores the historic cultural landscape associated with the Civil War battlefield. The work represents a continuation of prior fencing replacement efforts. NAICS code 321113 (Sawmills) applies; standard small business size for this code is 550 employees. The National Park Service is issuing this notice and any amendments exclusively through SAM.gov; interested parties must monitor that platform for amendments and solicitation details. All questions and submissions must be directed through SAM.gov.

SPLIT RAIL FENCING SUPPLY ORDER - MISP
The National Park Service, Region 2, South Atlantic Gulf, intends to award a Firm Fixed price contract for supply purchase of Eastern Red Cedar Split Rails for Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument located in Nancy, KY.
The scope of This project addresses deferred maintenance and enhances the historic character of Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument by replacing approximately 2,100 linear feet of deteriorated split rail fencing within the park boundary. Existing fencing has exceeded its useful service life and no longer reflects the historic cultural landscape associated with the Civil War battlefield. The current requirement is a continuation of that work to extend the same fencing.
The incumbent contractor is the only known source capable of providing fencing that precisely matches the existing installation, including materials, dimensions, finish, hardware, and appearance.
Additionally, it is in the best interest of the Government to stay with the original vendor to ensure exact continuity with the already installed product. Procuring from another source would introduce discrepancies and risk compatibility with existing section of the split rail fencing. It is the only source that can provide the materials required for this completion of this project.
