About this opportunity
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to issue a sole source purchase order to USGBF NSF, LLC for minor repairs, maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and other building-related services at the new HUD Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. This is not a request for proposals or quotations but rather a notice of the government's intent to award a contract to a single source. The contracting officer has determined that only one source is reasonably available to perform these services under the simplified acquisition threshold. The opportunity was posted on April 1, 2026, with a due date of April 8, 2026. The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Administration issued this notice under FAR Overhaul provisions governing sole source acquisitions.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community of HUD's intention to award a 12-month purchase order for building maintenance and repair services at the new headquarters facility. USGBF NSF, LLC is identified as the sole source because, as the lessor of the building under the GSA lease, it is the only contractually authorized entity with direct access to building infrastructure, system controls, and maintenance records necessary to perform these services. While this is not a competitive solicitation, the government will accept capability statements, proposals, or quotations from any responsible sources via email, and such submissions will be considered solely to determine whether conducting a competitive procurement would be in the government's best interest. However, the Contracting Officer retains sole discretion to proceed with the sole source award. Responsive firms should note that requests for copies of a formal solicitation will not be honored, and all submissions must be made by the April 8, 2026 deadline.
