The Defense Health Agency is seeking a contractor to conduct a comprehensive Military Specific Mindfulness-Based Attention Training (MBAT) Study for the Army's 3rd Infantry Division (3ID), focusing on evaluating mindfulness training's effectiveness for armored crew personnel. The study will be executed in three distinct phases, beginning with contextualizing MBAT for armored crews, developing embedded practices, and completing a pilot study to optimize delivery. The primary objective is to assess MBAT's impact on military personnel's performance using computer-based metrics and operational simulator evaluations. Potential contractors must submit capabilities statements electronically by 10:00 AM EST on Monday, 16 June 2025, with a base performance period scheduled from 15 September 2025 to 14 September 2029. Key deliverables include comprehensive reports on MBAT materials, training assessments, and implementation recommendations to be submitted electronically to the Contracting Officer's Representative at various project milestones.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity, which falls under NAICS category 541720 for Research and Development in Social Sciences and Humanities. The research will be primarily conducted at the vendor's facility, with potential remote participant recruitment and testing at Fort Stewart, GA. While specific award values are not explicitly stated, the four-year contract duration suggests a substantial research investment. The study will involve multiple research phases, including pilot testing and two evaluation rounds with mindfulness training and wait-list groups. Contractors will be expected to provide evidence-based recommendations for MBAT implementation to 3ID leadership, with the final implementation recommendations report due within 48 months of contract award. The project represents a significant opportunity for researchers specializing in military psychology and performance optimization.
