About this opportunity

The Naval Air Systems Command issued a request for information on August 16, 2026, to identify qualified prime contractors capable of designing, developing, and certifying a mid-life cockpit upgrade for the VH-92A Presidential helicopter. This is market research only; no RFP exists at this time. The government will use responses to inform vendor selection and determine whether to pursue small business programs prior to formal solicitation.

The VH-92A is a military commercial derivative aircraft supporting Presidential Lift missions and maintains FAA Public Use certification throughout its lifecycle. PMA 274's upgrade objectives include addressing cockpit obsolescence, integrating military mission functions into the FAA-certified cockpit, advancing Open Systems Architecture, achieving weight efficiency, enhancing cyber resiliency, and leveraging modern commercial cockpit advancements.

Core capabilities required encompass systems engineering, requirements management, systems architecture, human systems integration, cyber security engineering, software development, Systems Integration Labs, testing, and FAA airworthiness certification. All capable large and small businesses are encouraged to submit a capability package. The notice carries no set-aside restriction.
