About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 2 units of NSN 7R-1680-016552231-P8, MID LH FITTING DEIC parts for repair/modification under miscellaneous aircraft accessories and components. This procurement requires engineering source approval by the design control activity due to the flight-critical nature of the parts and the need to maintain quality standards. Only previously approved sources have been solicited for this opportunity, as these sources retain essential data rights, manufacturing/repair knowledge, and technical expertise that are not economically available to the Government. Companies that are not currently approved sources must submit detailed information following NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support procedures to request source approval, though the time required for new source approval would typically delay contract award. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on August 12, 2025, with a response deadline of September 29, 2025.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is structured around the existing approved source framework. The contract calls for delivery of 2 units (2 EA) with FOB origin terms, and the parts are designated with TDP VER 001 specifications. No specific incumbent contractors or potential award values are disclosed in the notice. The procurement emphasizes the critical nature of maintaining existing qualified sources due to the specialized engineering skills and manufacturing knowledge required for these aircraft components. Companies seeking to become approved sources must demonstrate their technical capabilities and experience with similar items through the formal Government engineering activity approval process.
