Update #5 ·

Amendment 0003:

The purpose of this amendment is to address questions received as of 23 August 2016 in regard to the Solicitation:

Question 1: This is somewhat broad, can you clarify more specifically the expected level of production integration expected in the project (in other words, at what level is the equipment development and automation expected)? Is this prototype scale equipment or full blown production manufacturing?

Answer: The level of integration should be commensurate with the technology proposed for the purpose of proving it's feasibility. It is highly likely that in order to prove on-site ‎construction capability at the BEP will require some sort of pilot or lab scale integration equipment. This should be part of the proposal if needed.

Question 2: Sections 3.1 and 3.2 talks again about the deliverables and specifically, in section 3.1.2.1.2; construction of feature from on-site raw materials. Can the level of scale be described with a bit more detail?

Answer: The scale would be on the order of that needed to prove feasibility. From single samples to hundreds of units.

Question 3: For the BEP-RFP-16-0440 Solicitation Micro-Optic Security Features. Do you have a design you would like made or do you want a new design developed. We can make micro optics down to submicron sizes. What wave length of light do you want the features optimized for?

Answer: The structures should be optimized for broad band focusing across the visible spectrum. Any other wavelengths or applications would be considered secondary.

Question 4: What is the anticipated funding range for Years 1 and Years 2/3?

Answer: This will be a cost type contract with the successful offeror proposal being the best value to the Government, thus it would depends on the proposed technology, its feasibility, and applications.

Question 5: What is the expected length of the total technical proposal?

Answer: The Government did not set a requirement on length so long as it meets the requirement of the SOO.
