About this opportunity
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Enterprise Medical Services Contracting Division has issued a Special Notice regarding the Medical "Q"-Coded Services (MQS) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The notice outlines the agency's intent to modify existing contracts by extending the current ordering period for seven months, from 01 April 2025 through 31 October 2025. This modification applies to medical support services that supplement medical staff at Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities across the 50 United States, District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. The extension covers credentialed and non-credentialed health care workers in physician, dental, ancillary, and nursing services. The notice is specifically designated as a Total Small Business set-aside opportunity.
The primary objective of this contract modification is to ensure continuity of medical staffing support while the DHA completes its next-generation procurement process for the Medical Support Services (MSS) and MQS programs. The extension will involve 35 existing contractors and represents a no-cost modification that maintains the current program ceiling. Contractors should note that this is not a competitive proposal request, and the government will determine whether to proceed with the modification based on its sole discretion. Eligible contractors are small businesses capable of providing medical support services across various healthcare market segments. The modification is being executed under the authority of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 217.204(e)(i)(B) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302, with the ultimate goal of bridging the gap until the MQS2-NG Small Business set-aside acquisition can be awarded and implemented.
