About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 1, issued a Special Notice of Intent (Solicitation Number 36C24126Q0275) for a sole source procurement with BeaconMedaes to provide preventive maintenance services on medical gas equipment at the VA Boston Healthcare System, Brockton Campus in Massachusetts. This notice was originally posted on February 17, 2026, and subsequently amended on March 4, 2026, to extend the response deadline and modify the NAICS code classification. The procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, indicating that the government has determined there is only one responsible source capable of meeting the requirement. The contract structure includes one base year with four optional years, with the anticipated performance start date of March 6, 2026. This Special Notice represents the government's formal notification to the contracting community of its intent to award a sole source contract, allowing other capable contractors an opportunity to submit capability statements before the award is finalized.

Interested contractors must submit a written capability statement demonstrating their ability to provide preventive maintenance services on BeaconMedaes medical gas systems, including medical air systems, medical vacuum systems, air dryer systems, dental air compressor equipment, and medical high-pressure manifold systems by the extended deadline of March 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM EDT. All maintenance personnel must hold NITC ASSE 6040 certification and comply with VHA Directive 7515(1), NFPA 99, NFPA 55, and BeaconMedaes manufacturer requirements. Contractors must provide all parts, materials, tools, lubricants, filters, fluids, test equipment, and labor, as well as obtain short-term identification badges and comply with federal security requirements and VA directives. The requirement falls under NAICS Code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and Product Service Code J065. While this notice is not a formal solicitation or request for proposal, it provides an opportunity for capable sources to demonstrate their qualifications before the sole source award is made to BeaconMedaes.
