About this opportunity
NASA's Goddard Space Center has awarded a cost-plus fixed fee contract to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) for the Measurement of Pollution in the Troposphere (MOPITT) Science Investigator-led Processing System (SIPS), valued at $2,467,324.57. The contract, which was not competitively awarded, covers a fifty-four-month period of performance beginning December 1, 2024, and includes a one 10-month base period with three one-year options and one eight-month option period. Under this contract, UCAR will continue developing and operating the MOPITT Science Investigator-led Processing System for NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS), processing scientific data products related to carbon monoxide measurements at their facility in Boulder, Colorado. The sole-source contract was awarded based on UCAR's unique 25+ years of expertise with the MOPITT instrument and algorithms, with NASA determining that transitioning to a new contractor would cause unacceptable delays and substantial additional costs.
