Dear Quoter:

Accompanying this cover letter is a solicitation package prepared by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, for the acquisition of FOOD PRODUCTS for the Metropolitan Correctional Center, San Diego, California. This package contains all the necessary information for submitting a quote. When submitting quotes, quoters should consider all information provided in the Request for Quotation (RFQ). Please carefully follow all instructions located in the solicitation concerning the content, format, and submission of quotes.

All canned goods must be palletized. Contractors must be willing to deliver at offsite San Diego locations, other than the prison sight and arrange specific delivery dates and times with MCC San Diego Food Service staff.

All contractors doing business with the Federal Government shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database pursuant to FAR 52.212-4 (Sept 2008). If you are not registered, please do so at www.ccr.gov to complete the registration process. Quoters should include their Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) no. located in Block 17a of the Standard Form 1449 in the quotation. The Contracting Officer will verify registration in the CCR database. Failure to complete the registration procedure as outlined in this clause may result in elimination from consideration for the award.

Prospective quoters are also cautioned against discussing the preparation of their quotation with Government technical personnel. The circumstances of each such contact, when verified, may result in NON-CONSIDERATION of the quotation. Accordingly, all communication prior to award shall be directed to the Contracting Officer listed in the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) announcement.

Quotations can be mailed, scanned or faxed. You are allowed to drop off your quote. However, please call (619) 232-4311 x1622 to make arrangements. The quotes must be addressed to the attention of the Contracting Officer at the address listed below. Quotes must be received on or before the deadline date of September 22, 2010, 4:00PM, PST. Quotes received after the deadline will be handled in accordance with FAR 52.212-7-1(f).

Please place any questions you may have in writing, email/scan to lreyes@bop.gov or fax to 619.232.4311 ext 1622. We will consider all questions received and provide a response when appropriate.
