About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, through the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Armament Directorate, issued a Notice of Contract Action and sources sought on October 19, 2026 announcing a sole-source indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract award to The Boeing Company for Contractor Logistics Support of the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (GBU-57) weapon system, with responses due November 9, 2026. The contract is anticipated to carry a five-year ordering period beginning around July 2027 and is justified under 10 USC 2304(a)(1) as only one responsible source capable of satisfying the requirement. Boeing possesses the only known MOP special test assets and U.S. Government simulation facilities, extensive MOP software expertise, and production capability across all weapon configurations; the Government holds only limited proprietary data rights and cannot provide a technical data package to potential competitors. While this action represents a sole-source award intent, the Air Force invites all responsible sources to submit capability statements demonstrating qualified engineering skill and facilities for MOP logistics support. Responses are strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to the Government.
