Notice text
The NPS Turbopropulsion Laboratory provides students thesis projects relevant to gas turbines. The testing of modern compressor stages found in gas turbines is part of this. A traditionally machined part is required to be made from Titanium (Alloy Ti6Al4V). The performance and durability of this will be compared with a stator made using a different manufacturing process. The work forms part of a thesis project. The stator MUST be made from Titanium Alloy Ti6Al4V using subtractive machining. No other materials or manufacturing processes will be acceptable.
