Update #1 ·

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting small business contractors for the Maintenance Dredging of the Federal Navigation Project in Cohasset Harbor, in the town of Cohasset, MA. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District.

The work of this project consists of maintenance dredging approximately 62,000 cubic yards (CY), of predominantly sandy sediment, by hydraulic dredge from the Cohasset Harbor 8-ft navigation channel, 7-ft anchorage, and one of three 6-ft anchorages. The channel is 90 feet wide, about 0.7 miles in length, and extends from Cape Code Bay into Cohasset Harbor, Cohasset, MA. The 7-ft anchorage requiring maintenance dredging is approximately 18 acres in size, while the 6-ft anchorage is approximately 5 acres. The sandy dredge material will be pumped via pipeline to Sandy Beach in Cohasset, MA about 1.5 miles by water route to the northwest of the federal project. Of the 62,000 CY of maintenance dredging, approximately 46,000 CY will be required to dredge down to 8 ft below Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW), and another 16,000 CY of 1-ft allowable overdepth to 9 ft below MLLW. All dredging operations shall occur between October 1, 2015 and January 31, 2016 to minimize impact to natural resources in the area. A major emphasis in the project will be the grading of dredged material to meet requirements of the placement site and maximize retention of the sand on the beach. The work will not include dredging the remaining two smaller 6-ft anchorages and a portion the 7-ft anchorage where material is too silty to be placed at Sandy Beach, Cohasset, MA.

The solicitation will be available on or about February 27, 2015 and will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http:/www.fbo.gov).
