About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District is seeking a contractor to perform maintenance dredging of the Bronx River, NY Federal Navigation Project, which involves removing approximately 200,000 cubic yards of sediment consisting primarily of sand and silt to a depth of -10 feet plus one foot allowable over depth. The contractor must utilize mechanical "clamshell" bucket operations to maintain a minimum daily production of 8,000 cubic yards and transport the dredged material to the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS) located approximately four miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey, using large-capacity ocean-going scows. The work includes handling miscellaneous marine debris that may be encountered during operations and disposing of it at a contractor-furnished facility. This is a firm fixed-price construction contract evaluated through full and open competition with a HUBZone price evaluation preference, requiring a 20% bid guarantee along with performance and payment bonds. The solicitation was issued on June 27, 2025, with bid submissions due by 2:00 PM EST on July 28, 2025.

The performance period extends from October 1, 2025, to January 14, 2026, with contractors required to complete the basic work within 58 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed, including a mandatory 5-day mobilization period. The place of performance is the Bronx River in Bronx, New York, with an environmental no-work window from January 1 to September 30 that affects project scheduling.
