About this opportunity
The Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ) at Picatinny Arsenal is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for optical fire control (OFC) kits and spare parts supporting the M777A2 Lightweight 155mm and M119A3 105mm Towed Howitzers. The purpose is to research vendor capabilities in precision manufacturing, specifically focusing on optical systems that can withstand extreme shock-load environments. Interested vendors are required to submit detailed information about their company's expertise in precision machining, gear cutting, and optics manufacturing, including experience with optical components like prisms and lenses. The market research request seeks comprehensive documentation such as specifications, brochures, technical manuals, demonstration videos, and customer references. All electronic submissions must be received by Friday, April 4, 2025, at 5:00 PM EDT, with responses to be sent directly to Daniel Rakauskas and Klaudia Grabias via email.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation, meaning the opportunity is open to all qualified vendors. Respondents must specify whether they qualify as a small business under NAICS Code 333314 for Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing and provide details about their production capabilities and historical lead times. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned, the government has structured this as a Request for Information (RFI) that may potentially lead to a future Request for Proposal (RFP). Vendors are advised that participation is voluntary, and all costs associated with preparing responses will be borne by the participating companies. The government explicitly states that this notice does not constitute a solicitation and does not obligate them to issue a subsequent contract, and no compensation will be provided for submitted information.
