About this opportunity

The United States Marine Corps is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for remanufactured M1 Garand rifle stocks and upper hand guards, with industry responses due by August 11, 2026. This is a request for information (RFI) for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commit the Government to award a contract.

The Marine Corps seeks 125 upper hand guards remanufactured to exact original M1 Garand specifications. Items must be unfinished wood to permit unit-specific stain and finish application, with heavy, durable bracing in the receiver heel and pistol/hand grip areas to withstand repeated CONUS travel and ceremonial performance. Each hand guard must include new, remanufactured metal sling and end caps, properly fitted to prevent loosening during performances.

Vendors should submit capability statements that include company name, CAGE code, and point of contact; production capability and lead time; past performance on M1 Garand components or similar remanufactured rifle parts; confirmation of ability to meet all salient characteristics; and any recommended industry standards or clarifications. The Government will not reimburse response costs.
