About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking contractors for the repair of TACAN (Tactical Air Navigation) system components through a pre-solicitation notice. The procurement involves repair services for five specific electronic items including high power amplifiers, low power amplifiers, electrical synthesizers, power supplies, and monitor panels, all identified by their respective National Stock Numbers and reference numbers. The government intends to use sole source procurement authority under FAR 6.302-1, as they do not own the technical data rights needed for competitive sourcing and have determined it would be uneconomical to acquire such rights or reverse engineer the components. Interested parties have until August 16, 2025 to submit responses, and all firms must include their Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) codes with solicitation requests. The government will consider all proposals received within 30 days of the notice publication date of August 7, 2025, though this notice is not a formal request for competitive proposals.
This procurement does not utilize any small business set-aside designations and is classified under NAICS code 221118 for Other Electric Power Generation and PSC code 5996 for Amplifiers. The contract structure anticipates quantities ranging from 1 to 120 units per year over a five-year performance period, with delivery terms specified as FOB Origin. No incumbent contractors or potential award values are specified in the notice, though the multi-year structure suggests a substantial ongoing maintenance requirement for military navigation equipment. The items are subject to various international trade agreements including Free Trade Agreements and the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement, indicating potential for international contractor participation. Companies not currently approved as sources for these items can express interest through the NAVSUP Business Opportunities web portal, though the award process will not be delayed for non-approved vendors to obtain government approval.
