Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals prior to offer due date, which will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.The requirement is for disposal of solid, radioactive waste in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. This is not a commercial item and FAR Part 15 will be utilized. The solicitation will be for a base period of performance from the date of contract award through one year thereafter, with the possibility of four one year option periods. Estimated annual quantity of waste is 4,000 cubic feet. This solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: http://www.neco.navy.mil. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation from the website and for frequently monitoring the site for any amendments. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents. No telephone or fax request will be accepted, and no hard-copy solicitation/amendment will be mailed or faxed. Electronic submission of proposals is not available at this time.
