About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command awarded contract N00019-20-C-0047-P00030 to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation for $126,844 on June 17, 2026, for Lots 5 and 6 Aircraft Inspection Discrepancy Reporting (AIDR).
The award was made on a sole-source basis under FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B) and (iii)(B) without competitive solicitation. The justification cited substantial duplication of cost that would not be recovered through competition, as well as unacceptable schedule delays. The contracting office determined that requiring a new vendor to duplicate the incumbent's prior investments in development and testing would be neither cost-effective nor feasible, and that sole-sourcing to the identified incumbent was necessary to meet mission requirements without prohibitive costs or delays. A redacted Justification and Approval document is posted in accordance with FAR 6.305.
Notice text
In accordance with FAR 5.705(b), notice is hereby given that this contract action was not awarded competitively. As detailed in the attached redacted Limited Sources Justification, this requirement was awarded on a sole-source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B) and (iii)(B).
The rationale for limiting sources is due to the substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, as well as unacceptable delays in fulfilling critical agency requirements. Competing this effort would require a new vendor to duplicate significant prior investments in development and testing. This duplication of effort is neither cost-effective nor feasible for the Government. Therefore, limiting competition to the incumbent/identified source was necessary to meet mission requirements without incurring prohibitive costs or schedule delays.
For further details, please refer to the attached redacted Justification and Approval (J&A) document posted in accordance with FAR 6.305.
Awarded contract N00019-20-C-0047-P00030 to SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT CORPORATION for 126844.00 on 2026-06-17.
