About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center has issued a Special Notice for a combustion chamber liner procurement. The notice concerns a federal contract opportunity for specialized aircraft engine components, specifically liners for the F100-PW-229 engine. The opportunity is categorized under Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing (NAICS 336412) and Gas Turbines and Jet Engines (PSC 2840). The contract involves a firm-fixed-price acquisition for a one-time purchase of these critical engine components. The liner is a precision-manufactured part made of PWA 1042 cobalt material, measuring 35.5 inches in length and width, with specific military specifications and strategic importance.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to amend the previous solicitation by extending the closing date to June 20, 2025, and modifying quantity requirements. The quantity of CLIN 0001 has been reduced from 61 to 4 units, and CLIN 0002 has been eliminated entirely. Price will be the sole evaluation factor, with the government intending to award the contract to the lowest-priced offeror who meets all solicitation requirements. Contractors must adhere to strict packaging standards outlined in MIL-STD-2073-1 and MIL-STD-129, including specific wood packaging material treatments and shipping container markings. Potential vendors must comply with all specified terms, conditions, and quality assurance standards, and be prepared to ship the components to the DLA Distribution Depot at Tinker Air Force Base using specific transportation guidelines and contact protocols.
