About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 7 units of combustion chamber liners (NSN 7R-2840-010491153-DQ) for aircraft gas turbines and jet engines. This is a flight-critical component that requires Government source approval prior to contract award, with delivery terms FOB origin. The procurement is limited to previously approved sources only due to the Government's lack of ownership of technical data rights needed for additional sourcing, and the uneconomical nature of reverse engineering this specialized part. Companies that are not currently approved sources must submit comprehensive technical documentation as detailed in NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, covering either spares or repair capabilities based on their experience with similar items. The due date for responses is September 19, 2025, with offers that fail to provide required source approval documentation being ineligible for award consideration.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to full and open competition among approved sources. While specific incumbent contractors are not named in the notice, only sources previously approved by the Government for this particular item have been solicited, indicating a limited pool of qualified vendors. No contract value or budget range is specified in the pre-solicitation notice. The quantity requirement is clearly defined as 7 units of the combustion chamber liner component, with technical data package version 002 serving as the procurement standard. Companies seeking source approval must allow additional time for the Government's evaluation process, as approval of new sources typically cannot be completed within standard procurement timelines.
