About this opportunity
The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) is seeking linen and mat rental/cleaning services for multiple Maryland and Virginia Commissary Locations through a Request for Information (RFI). This market research effort aims to identify firms capable of providing weekly delivery, pickup, cleaning, and maintenance of linens (including butcher coats, shirts, pants, and aprons) and industrial-strength mops and mats. Interested firms must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and can contact Christina Ellison at christina.ellison@deca.mil to participate. The RFI requires a synopsis of no more than 50 pages detailing the proposed program, with responses due by May 12, 2025. Participation is voluntary, and the agency emphasizes that this is not a commitment to issue a solicitation or make an award.
The opportunity is set aside for total small businesses under the NAICS code 812332 for Industrial Launderers. The anticipated contract period runs from December 1, 2025, through November 30, 2026, with four potential option years. Contractors must provide 100% fill rate for deliveries, ensure clean and wrinkle-free linens in appropriate sizes, and comply with installation access procedures, which may include background security checks. The solicitation covers multiple commissary locations in Maryland and Virginia, requiring robust laundry and mat maintenance services that can withstand high-traffic grocery store environments. While no specific award value is mentioned, the comprehensive nature of the services and multi-year potential suggest a significant contract opportunity for qualified small businesses in the industrial laundry sector.
