About this opportunity
The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency is seeking to increase the ceiling of an existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for maintenance logistics support of the Linear Ground Detection System (LGDS) deployed along the Southwest Border. The procurement encompasses contractor lifecycle services including installation, commissioning, maintenance, 24/7 support, training, and algorithm support for the LGDS technology. Key requirements include providing installation and commissioning services, calibration and tuning of fully integrated assets delivered as Government Furnished Property, contractor logistics support, and engineering change proposals along with associated studies and analysis reports. This is classified as a sole source procurement under the Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors NAICS category (238210). The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 12, 2026, with a response deadline of January 23, 2026, providing potential offerors with an 11-day window to submit relevant information or questions.
This opportunity is not designated as a set-aside procurement and represents a ceiling increase to the existing contract 70B02C24D00000029, indicating that the incumbent contractor is the current provider of LGDS maintenance and support services. The pre-solicitation notice does not specify the dollar value of the ceiling increase or the total contract award amount, though the scope's emphasis on 24/7 support services and comprehensive lifecycle management across Southwest Border installations suggests a substantial contract value. As an IDIQ contract, the actual task orders and associated spending will be determined based on CBP's operational requirements and system deployment needs throughout the contract performance period. The notice does not provide specific numerical details regarding the quantity of LGDS units or the anticipated service delivery timeline, indicating that these details will likely be further defined in the formal solicitation document.
