About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, specifically the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, is seeking qualified sources to provide Level 1 Round Bar made of SAE-AMS-QQ-S-763D Class 304/304L Condition A material. The solicitation requires vendors to supply 5 feet of 10-inch diameter corrosion-resistant steel round bar with stringent quality control specifications. Vendors must submit detailed quotations via email to tasha.dooley@dla.mil and DLA-KME-QUOTATIONS@DLA.MIL, including pricing, FOB point, CAGE code, point of contact information, GSA contract number, business size, and preferred payment method. The evaluation will focus on vendors' ability to meet all technical specifications, with failure to provide complete information potentially resulting in technical unacceptability. The solicitation closes on January 17, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST, with final quotes due by March 7, 2025, and a required delivery date of June 20, 2025.
This contract opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 331221 (Rolled Steel Shape Manufacturing) with performance located in Kittery, ME. The procurement is a DO-A3 rated order requiring destination inspection and acceptance, with special emphasis on material traceability, quality control, and compliance with ISO-9001 standards. Vendors must demonstrate a Level 1 material control system and provide comprehensive documentation including inspection and test plans, material certifications, chemical and mechanical test results, and non-destructive testing procedures. The contract requires strict adherence to quality standards, prohibition of mercury-containing compounds, and specific marking requirements. While no specific award value is mentioned, the technical complexity and stringent requirements suggest this is a critical procurement for naval shipyard operations.
