About this opportunity

The Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified vendors capable of manufacturing optical instrument lenses, NSN 6650-01-444-0551. This is a pre-solicitation announcement issued by the Department of the Army to gauge vendor interest, capabilities, and qualifications across both small and large businesses before formulating an acquisition strategy for a potential future solicitation. Interested vendors must demonstrate their manufacturing expertise, delivery capability, First Article Testing experience, and commercial availability of the item by the March 27, 2026 deadline. Responses should include the firm's name and address, valid SAM registration and CAGE Code, point of contact information, business size status, manufacturing expertise summary, delivery capability assessment, First Article Testing experience, place of performance, and appropriate NAICS Code. It is important to note that this Sources Sought Notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract, and the Government does not encourage questions regarding this market research initiative.

This pre-solicitation notice contains no set-aside designations for small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned enterprises, or other protected categories. The announcement does not identify any current contractors or incumbents, nor does it disclose an award value, budget range, or specific quantity of items to be procured. No timeline for contract performance or delivery schedules has been provided in this market research notice. Vendors should ensure their SAM registration is current and valid, as this is a mandatory requirement for submission consideration. The absence of specific numerical details reflects the exploratory nature of this Sources Sought Notice, which is designed to inform Government acquisition planning rather than to solicit binding proposals at this stage.
