About this opportunity

The Department of Defense Education Activity awarded a 5-year, $6 million firm-fixed-price IDIQ contract to LEGO Systems, Inc. on September 4, 2026, for LEGO Education Computer Science & AI Sets, replacement packs, motors, controllers, color sensors, and related software and professional learning services supporting K-12 robotics instruction.

The award was made under a Women-Owned Small Business set-aside. Contract HE125426DE053 covers DoWEA's 161 schools serving approximately 66,000 military-connected students across three geographic regions: Americas, Europe and Middle East, and Pacific. Base quantities include 1,676 units each of Computer Science & AI Sets for grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8, with smaller quantities of component parts across the five-year base period. Digital resources must be accessible within three business days of order receipt with 24/7/365 availability; physical materials must ship within 30 business days to U.S. sites and 45 business days to overseas locations, with 95 percent on-time delivery required. The contractor must provide FedRAMP Level 2–compliant systems, Section 508 accessibility, single sign-on integration with Azure Active Directory or Google AD, AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit, and technical support within one business day. All contractor personnel with access to student data must be U.S. citizens and complete Department of War Privacy Act and PII training.

Notice text

For over a decade—except during the pandemic, DoWEA students across all grade levels have competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition. As competition requirements evolve to match technological advances, the hardware and software utilized by students has advanced accordingly. Such changes, especially when major platform shifts occur, require changes in DoWEA’s resource lifecycle and replenishment schedules.  DoWEA’s last systemic contract for these robotics resources was awarded in fiscal year 2023. This objective is to provide DoWEA with the LEGO Education products and components identified below. DoWEA may use these products in connection with robotics activities, including FIRST Robotics (Sy26-27) and LEGO League (Sy27 and beyond). Any reference to FIRST, LEGO League, or a related competition describes DoWEA’s intended use of the products and does not expand the Contractor’s obligations beyond providing the products and product-related support expressly identified in this PWS.

Awarded contract HE125426DE053 to LEGO SYSTEMS, INC for 6000000.00 on 2026-09-04.
