About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Omaha is soliciting proposals for a lease of office space totaling approximately 1,420 square feet in Ames, Iowa. The government's current lease is expiring and the agency is exploring alternative space options if economically advantageous to do so. Key evaluation criteria will include the availability of suitable alternate space, janitorial services provided under the lease terms, and anticipated costs associated with relocation such as physical moving expenses, replication of tenant improvements, and telecommunication infrastructure upgrades, as well as any non-production agency downtime during the transition. The solicitation was posted on March 17, 2026, with a response deadline of March 31, 2026, providing interested parties with a two-week window to submit their proposals.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designations and is open to all eligible bidders in the commercial real estate leasing sector. The solicitation does not identify a specific incumbent contractor or provide a stated budget range or award value. The place of performance is Ames, Iowa 50010, where the government currently operates under an expiring lease agreement. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 531120 (Lessors of Nonresidential Buildings) and PSC code X1PZ (Lease/Rental of Other Non-Building Facilities), indicating this is a standard commercial real estate leasing transaction. Prospective lessors should be prepared to address how their proposed space and lease terms can provide economic advantage compared to the costs and operational impacts of relocation.
