About this opportunity

The Department of Energy, specifically the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS) operated by Mission Support and Test Services, LLC, is seeking a subcontractor to provide comprehensive laundry services for government-owned linens. The primary objective is to find an experienced provider capable of independently managing laundry operations for various facilities, including locations in Nevada, Maryland, California, and New Mexico. Potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit a response including their company name, Unique Entity Identifier, business size classification, and a capability statement demonstrating past performance. The pre-solicitation notice requires interested companies to detail their qualifications, particularly their ability to handle weekly laundry processing of approximately 220 flat sheets, 175 pillowcases, 360 bath towels, and other related linens. Responses are due by April 22, 2025, with companies expected to demonstrate expertise in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitary practices.

The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside for small businesses, though it welcomes submissions from various small business categories including HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Small Disadvantaged, and Woman-Owned businesses. The laundry service contract involves weekly pickup and delivery of linens every Wednesday, with flexible scheduling for holiday weeks. Specific laundering requirements include processing Full XL sheets, standard pillowcases, various towel sizes, bathmats, and washcloths, with an emphasis on returning items free of soil, bacteria, and microorganisms. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary personnel, management, equipment, and materials to complete the laundering services. While no specific contract value is mentioned, the scope suggests a consistent, ongoing service requirement for multiple facility locations operated by Mission Support and Test Services, LLC.
