About this opportunity
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) at Fort Rucker, Alabama is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for comprehensive laundry and dry cleaning services at Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker). The procurement will cover bulk and piece-rate laundry services including processing of linens, organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE), and other specified items for authorized customers through an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract structure. Contractors must provide all necessary labor, supervision, transportation, facilities, equipment, and supplies while maintaining strict quality standards and completing laundry processing within three business days, with expedited 48-hour service required for military funeral uniforms. The contractor will be required to manage distribution and collection points, maintain accountability through the Post Laundry Program (PLP), use bio-based cleaning products, and ensure all personnel complete mandatory training including antiterrorism, OPSEC, and threat awareness. This sources sought notice has a response deadline of September 9, 2025, though no evaluation criteria are specified as this is solely for market research purposes.
Currently, no set-aside designation has been determined, though the government explicitly states that based on responses received, the requirement may be set aside for small businesses either in full or in part, with all small business categories under consideration, or may proceed through full and open competition. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or current service providers for these laundry and dry cleaning operations. No contract values, budget ranges, or specific quantities are disclosed in this preliminary market research phase. The government indicates that multiple awards may be made under this requirement, suggesting the potential for several contractors to share the workload. The Performance Work Statement emphasizes the contractor's responsibility to schedule and manage operations to maximize responsiveness, efficiency, and economy for the Fort Novosel community, though specific performance metrics or service volume projections are not provided in the available documentation.
