About this opportunity

The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center San Diego has issued a Special Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Thermal Spray Solutions, Inc. for repairing 16 Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Shafts for Assault Craft Unit-5 (ACU-5) located at MCB Camp Pendleton. This contract is critical for sustaining a fully operational fleet of high-speed, amphibious landing craft capable of carrying up to 75-ton payloads. The contract will be awarded under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) authority, which allows for procurement when only one source is responsibly available. The anticipated award date is on or before February 14, 2025, and the applicable NAICS code is 811310, which relates to commercial and industrial machinery and equipment repair and maintenance.

Contractors interested in responding to this notice must submit a capability statement by 8:00 AM PST on February 6, 2025, via email to charles.e.bruce2.civ@us.navy.mil. The capability statement must be a Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF attachment and cannot exceed 6 pages (8.5 x 11 inches) using a minimum 10-point font. Submissions must include management and technical data, cost information, and convincing evidence demonstrating the ability to provide necessary licenses and proof of authorized distribution. The government will review all capability statements received by the deadline to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with a sole source purchase order. Telephone requests or offers will not be considered, and the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the procurement based on the received responses. Failure to approve this requirement could potentially degrade ACU-5's ability to provide critical support to military operations.
