The metal detectors must meet or exceed the specifications of a Metal Defender model with six zones and dimensions of 87½ inches by 36 inches by 15½ inches, with vendors required to include delivery and retrieval costs to and from the base in their proposals. This is a sources sought notice intended for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a binding commitment from the government. Interested firms should submit their capabilities and ability to support this requirement via email to the contracting officers, Captain Stephanie Richey or Lieutenant Tucker Terlizzi, no later than 1:00 PM Central Time on February 20, 2026. No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement opportunity. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or current service providers, nor does it disclose specific budget information or award values for this rental requirement. The procurement is classified under NAICS Code 56162 (Security Systems Services) and PSC Code W063 (Lease or Rental of Equipment—Alarm, Signal, and Security Detection Systems), indicating the equipment rental nature of the requirement. The relatively short response window of two days and the specific three-day rental window in late March suggest this is a time-sensitive requirement for an anticipated event or operation at Laughlin Air Force Base.
