About this opportunity
NASA's National Space Science Center announced a sole-source procurement for laser powder bed fusion development of oxide dispersion strengthened alloys for recording methane/oxygen combustion properties, with a capability-statement deadline of October 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Government intends to award to North American Manufacturing Pros LLC under FAR 12.102(a) authority but will evaluate written capability statements to determine whether to conduct the procurement competitively instead. Performance occurs at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The statement of work requires access to a fully dedicated EOS M280 laser powder bed fusion system with 432 operational hours per month and 60% minimum print utilization across a one-month development period. Task 1 involves parameter development and builds for burn-resistant ODS alloys including GRX-810, GRX-810+, and GRX-900, with deliverables achieving 99.9% relative density validated through microstructural analysis and mechanical testing per NASA standards. Task 2 requires supply of 600 kilograms of GRX-810 powder conforming to NASA-provided compositions with full certifications for traceability and batch tracking. All deliverables ship to Building 4631 at Marshall Space Flight Center. Submit capability statements only—not quotes—in writing to Cara Craft (cara.s.craft@nasa.gov) or Will Garrett (Will.c.garrett@nasa.gov). Oral communications are not acceptable. NAICS 541715; FAR Part 12 applies.
