About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command seeks interpreter services in support of Khaan Quest 2026, a military exercise in Mongolia, with quotes due June 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time and questions due May 30, 2026 at the same time. This is an unrestricted competitive procurement under NAICS 541930, Translation and Interpretation Services.
Place of performance is Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and the 5 Hills Training Area. The requirement spans June 15 through July 2, 2026, with delivery required by June 15, 2026 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The contractor must provide 23 simultaneous interpreters capable of English-Mongolian oral and written translation. Three interpreter specializations are required: basic interpreters for general military and logistical discussions, tactical interpreters for field operations and training lanes, and medical interpreters for medical training support. All interpreters must possess industry-recognized certification demonstrating English-Mongolian language proficiency and experience with simultaneous interpretation in large group settings. Interpreters must work flexible schedules up to 12 hours daily, seven days per week, including Mongolian holidays, with potential travel outside the local area without overnight stays.
The contractor bears full responsibility for personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, and logistics, including travel and living accommodations. Performance standards require a maximum error rate of 1% of total conversations. The pricing sheet specifies nine distinct interpreter categories with daily rates and duration ranges from 5 to 18 days. Quotes may be submitted in USD or MNT, evaluated in USD using the June 3 closing date exchange rate.
