About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is soliciting bids for three specialized inflatable air show markers required for the Thunder Over the Sound-Air & Space Show scheduled for November 1-2, 2025, at Keesler Air Force Base. These markers must meet specific Air Force Thunderbird requirements for marking show center and "bomb burst" areas, with detailed specifications including dimensions of 50 feet long by 10 feet high by 10 feet wide, white color construction from 20-24oz vinyl material, floating capability, and Air Force "wings" logo on all four sides. The markers must feature reinforced metal eyelets in all four bottom corners, internal reinforcement to maintain rectangular shape when inflated, and include detachable inflation devices. The procurement will utilize a lowest price technically acceptable evaluation process, assessing compliance, technical acceptability, and price. The solicitation was issued on August 13, 2025, with offers due by August 20, 2025, at 12:00 PM, and delivery required by October 15, 2025.
This opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, specifically reserved for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) enterprises under NAICS code 326299 (All Other Rubber Product Manufacturing) with a size standard of 650 employees. The contract will be structured as a firm fixed-price arrangement administered by the 81st Medical Group at Keesler Air Force Base. The procurement specifically requires three inflatable markers to support the air show operations, with performance taking place in Biloxi, Mississippi. While the solicitation documents do not specify the contract value or identify any incumbent contractors, the specialized nature of the inflatable markers and the tight delivery timeline of approximately two months from award to delivery date suggest this is a time-sensitive procurement for a critical air show support function. The contract falls under PSC category 4220 for Marine Lifesaving and Diving Equipment, reflecting the floating capability requirement of these specialized air show markers.
