About this opportunity
The Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal has published a Draft Request for Proposal for the Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) Recompete Contract, seeking industry feedback before issuing the final solicitation. This procurement will acquire the remaining Army Authorized Acquisition Objective of 297 JAB Systems to meet military bridging requirements. The JAB system consists of an M1A1 Abrams chassis integrated with a hydraulic Bridge Launch Mechanism capable of deploying and retrieving Heavy Assault Scissor Bridges. The contract structure is planned as a seven-year requirements contract with five base years and two option years, predominantly using Firm-Fixed Price terms. The Army will provide the M1A1 chassis and select sub-assemblies, while contractors will perform integration work according to government-provided technical specifications.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to gather industry insights, comments, and concerns to refine the final solicitation, with particular emphasis on feedback regarding the proposed Firm-Fixed Price contract structure and identified price ranges for JAB Chassis procurement. Interested parties must submit responses to the designated Army contact by July 31, 2025, addressing any potential obstacles or challenges with the contract requirements. The procurement timeline spans 122 JAB Chassis systems from FY26 through completion of the acquisition objective, with quantities ranging from 6 to 25 systems per ordering year. Supporting documentation including technical data packages and contract attachments are available upon request from the contracting office. The Army emphasizes this is a draft solicitation only, with final sections still under review, and encourages broad industry participation to ensure the final RFP addresses potential contractor concerns effectively.
