About this opportunity
The DOD Washington Headquarters Service (WHS) published a Special Notice on January 9, 2026, regarding a bridge contract extension for JDS Analysis Support Services to Future Force Planning for CAPE (Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation). This synopsis notice announces the agency's intent to extend services to the incumbent contractor, Tyto Government Solutions, Inc., under contract number HQ0034-20-F-0072. The extension is being issued under the authority of FAR 8.405-6 (Limiting Sources), which permits award to the incumbent without competitive bidding during a transition period. The current contract concludes on January 28, 2026, and this special notice is posted by Washington Headquarters Services Acquisition Directorate (WHS/AD) on behalf of the Office of Strategic Warfare (OSW/CAPE). This is a synopsis notice only and does not constitute a request for quote or proposal from other potential contractors.
The bridge contract extension will provide a 6-month period of performance from January 29, 2026, through July 28, 2026, allowing continuity of analysis support services while the underlying requirement undergoes competitive re-competition. The underlying requirement is currently being competed through a separate competitive acquisition with an anticipated award date of January 28, 2026, which will presumably result in a new long-term contract to replace the bridge extension upon its conclusion. The due date for this special notice is January 13, 2026, though it is explicitly stated that this is not a request for competitive quotations and requests for solicitation copies in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. Contractors interested in the long-term opportunity should monitor future announcements regarding the competitive acquisition. The bridge contract represents a standard transition mechanism employed by the federal government to maintain service continuity during contract competitions.
