About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 23, issued a Notice of Intent to award a sole-source contract to Arjo Inc. for maintenance of Arjo Patient Handling Equipment at the Grand Island VA Medical Center, with a response deadline of October 16, 2026. The contract covers base and four option years from February 1, 2027 through January 31, 2032.
The justification for sole-source award under FAR 6.302-1 rests on Arjo Inc.'s proprietary rights to its equipment and exclusive authorization to service it. Market research determined that Arjo Inc. is the only responsible source capable of meeting the requirement; the company maintains no authorized resellers, dealers, or distributors for maintenance services, and third-party service would invalidate warranties and service agreements. The equipment covered includes MAXI SKY2, MAXI SKY 1000, and MAXI SKY 2 PLUS units.
Although this notice does not constitute a solicitation, interested vendors may submit documentation demonstrating capability and obtain authorization from Arjo Inc. as an authorized dealer or third-party service provider. The procurement is conducted under FAR Subpart 13.5 and 41 U.S.C. 1901 authority. NAICS code 811210 and PSC J065 apply.
