About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 5 is seeking qualified contractors to provide annual medical gas delivery systems testing, inspection, and training services for the Maryland Health Care System. The procurement encompasses three primary deliverables: instructor-led ASSE 6040 Medical Gas System Maintenance certification training courses for VAMC staff, testing and verification of medical air, vacuum, and HVAC compressor equipment, and preventative maintenance services. Key qualifications include certification as an ASSE 6030 Medical Gas Verifier and, for instructors, a minimum of ten years of experience in medical gas system design, testing, verification, and troubleshooting combined with current ASSE 6050 Instructor credentials. The evaluation will focus on the contractor's technical capability to meet specific inspection and maintenance requirements including testing master alarm panels, area alarm panels, zone valves, bulk oxygen systems, gas manifolds, and medical gas outlets. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement including business type, size, and SAM identification number to Keysha.Gorman74@va.gov by November 2, 2025 at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, with this submission representing the critical deadline for initial consideration.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and involves work at three VA medical facilities: Baltimore, Loch Raven, and Perry Point. The training component requires three 32-hour instructor-led courses delivered between October 2025 and February 2026, with each class limited to a maximum of 16 VA employees. All testing, verification, and certification work must be completed within 120 calendar days from the award date, and contractors must provide two preventative maintenance visits annually in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and detailed reporting requirements. While specific award values are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the scope of work, staffing requirements, and geographic coverage across three facilities suggest a moderate to substantial contract value. The pre-solicitation notice is classified under PSC J065 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Medical Equipment) and NAICS 333912 (Air and Gas Compressor Manufacturing).
