About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 in Hampton, Virginia has issued a Special Notice for elevator repair services at the Salisbury VA Medical Center in North Carolina. The agency intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order to Elevator Technologies, Inc. (ETI) for comprehensive repairs to elevators in Building 4. The repairs are necessitated by water intrusion that has caused excessive moisture in the hoist way, compromising cables and damaging various elevator components. The contract falls under NAICS code 561210 (Facilities Support Services) with a small business size standard of $47.0 million. This notice serves as an advance notification of the government's intent to procure from a single source under FAR 13.106-1(b) authority.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors of the government's intention to conduct a sole source procurement while providing an opportunity for other qualified sources to demonstrate their capability to meet the requirement. Interested parties must submit evidence of their ability to perform the work by 10:00 AM EST on July 24, 2025, via email to Contracting Officer Aleshia Hines-Best, with telephone inquiries explicitly prohibited. The scope includes replacing damaged cables, door control boards, gate switches, and various elevator components, along with testing and disposal services. While this is not a competitive solicitation, responsible sources may identify their interest and capability, though the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the proposed contract based on responses received. The government will not reimburse costs associated with preparing responses to this notification.
