About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 7 is seeking contractors to perform annual preventive maintenance and repair work on the medical gas delivery system at Building 1-2025 in Central Alabama Veterans Health Care. The procurement will encompass all necessary personnel, management, materials, parts, equipment, tools, supplies, labor, and transportation required to complete the recommended medical gas system repairs. The Request for Quote (RFQ) is scheduled to be posted on July 28, 2025, with a response deadline of August 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. All questions must be submitted via email to marcus.watts@va.gov no later than 24 hours prior to the closing date, and capabilities submissions should be directed to the same email address. Site visits are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and potential contractors are strongly encouraged to inspect the site before submitting their responses. The procurement falls under NAICS code 238990 (All Other Specialty Trade Contractors) and PSC code J043 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment- Pumps and Compressors).

This opportunity is designated as a set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSBC) contractors, limiting competition to qualified businesses in this category. The contract involves annual maintenance work, indicating this is likely a recurring requirement for the VA medical facility's critical infrastructure systems. No specific award values, budget ranges, or incumbent contractor information is provided in the pre-solicitation notice. The timeline for services appears to be focused on addressing current deficiencies in the medical gas delivery system, with the work scope determined by the results of the recommended repairs identified in the system assessment. Contractors must demonstrate their capability to handle the full spectrum of requirements from initial assessment through completion of all necessary repairs and maintenance activities.
