About this opportunity
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is seeking authorized sources to maintain and repair ISU-90 containers for airlift and helicopter transport. The contract requires repairing 22 containers located in two separate locations: 21 near Ft Belvoir/Springfield, VA, and one at Ft Liberty, NC. Contractors must demonstrate the ability to repair containers that meet stringent military certification standards, specifically MIL-STD-209, MIL-STD-913, and MIL-HDBK-1791, which ensure the containers remain suitable for worldwide air deployment. The pre-solicitation notice requests responses that clearly confirm a source's capability to meet these specialized repair requirements, with the agency specifically asking contractors to include all applicable socio-economic category information. The current opportunity is classified under NAICS category 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery repair, with a specific Product Service Code (PSC) of J081 for container maintenance and repair.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, meaning the opportunity appears open to all qualified contractors. No incumbent contractor is mentioned, and specific award values are not disclosed in the notice. Each container is noted as unique, requiring individualized repair approaches, which suggests potential variability in service complexity and cost. The opportunity was posted on January 31, 2025, with responses requested by February 6, 2025, indicating a relatively short response window. The mission-critical nature of these repairs suggests that technical expertise, adherence to military standards, and proven capability in container maintenance will be crucial evaluation criteria for potential contractors.
