About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking contractors for the repair and modification of Interface Unit Data components under NSN 7H-7025-015299163-VN. The procurement involves 40 units requiring delivery to two locations: DLA Distribution in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and DLA Distribution San Joaquin in Tracy, California. This procurement is governed by DoD-STD-100 requirements, which mandate that these parts must be acquired from or repaired by sources specified on source control or selected item drawings. The government has indicated that suitable technical data, government data rights, or manufacturing/repair knowledge are not available to permit acquisition or repair by alternative sources, limiting competition to qualified sources only. The due date for responses to this pre-solicitation notice is October 15, 2025, with the original posting date of May 21, 2025.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to small business contractors only. The procurement requires delivery of 40 units total, with the specific part number 20518952-1 identified for the Interface Unit Data components. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are mentioned in the notice. While specific contract values are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation phase, the specialized nature of the equipment and the requirement for source-controlled repair suggests this may be a higher-value procurement due to the technical complexity and limited source availability. The timeline spans approximately five months from the posting date to the response deadline, indicating a deliberate procurement process that allows adequate time for qualified small businesses to prepare their responses.
