About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command has issued a Special Notice regarding the intent to sole source High Pressure Air Compressor (HPAC) repairs at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF). The notice specifically seeks an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to provide repair services to restore HPAC equipment to original manufacturer specifications. A Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared for this procurement. The notice emphasizes that this is not a request for competitive quotes, but rather an opportunity for interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities. The procurement is designated as an 8(a) Sole Source opportunity within the Ship Building and Repairing NAICS category.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit written responses by January 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM PST to demonstrate their capabilities for supporting the HPAC repair requirements. All prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. Responses should be emailed to Contract Specialist Brianna Webb, with the subject line "RESPONSE TO INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FOR HPAC", and must include detailed documentation about the company's technical background and experience. The government will review all submissions to determine whether a formal solicitation will be issued, with the determination of competition remaining solely at the government's discretion. The capability documentation should comprehensively describe the prospective contractor's ability to meet the technical requirements, which include providing a technical representative to restore the HPAC to normal operating condition and potentially working in areas requiring security clearance and specialized access credentials.
