About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 17, through its Network Contracting Office 17 Regional Procurement Office West, has issued a notice of intent to award a sole source contract to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) located in Washington, DC. This is not a competitive solicitation but rather a firm fixed price contract for institutional membership services under NAICS code 813920 for Professional Organizations. The contract is being pursued under Federal Acquisition Regulation provisions that allow sole source acquisitions when only one source is available to meet the government's needs. The posting date was August 19, 2025, and the notice establishes the VA's intention to proceed with this non-competitive award. South Texas VA is the requesting organization seeking this specialized membership service.
The primary objective of this contract is to secure AAMC institutional membership for South Texas VA to support its role as a teaching hospital and healthcare system in developing health professionals for veteran care. The membership will enhance partnerships with affiliate schools and universities that provide trainees and graduates, while also supporting professional development opportunities for VA employees involved in the education mission. Key benefits include access to professional development resources, faculty salary data for hiring and retention efforts, and coverage of both undergraduate and graduate medical education programs. Interested parties have until August 26, 2025, to respond, though this is not a request for competitive proposals. Any sources wishing to respond must submit a capability statement containing detailed management, technical, and cost information demonstrating their ability to provide equivalent services, though the notice indicates AAMC is the sole source capable of meeting these specific institutional membership requirements.
