About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation is seeking a small business contractor to perform integrated vegetation management and weed control services for the Jordan River lands in South Jordan and Draper, Utah. The primary objective is to control noxious and invasive weeds, including hoary cress, poison hemlock, Scotch/musk thistle, and Russian thistle through herbicide treatment and mowing. Eligible vendors must be registered in SAM.gov and classified as a small business. The contract will require the selected contractor to apply treatments during specific seasonal windows (springtime herbicide application from April to May, and summer mowing in August) and produce a comprehensive monitoring and effectiveness report. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on April 4, 2025, with responses due by April 11, 2025, and the contract is being procured under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Parts 12 and 13.

The contract is designated as a total small business set-aside with a NAICS code of 541620 and a small business size standard of $19 Million in the Environmental Consulting Services category. The period of performance will extend from the date of award through December 31, 2025, covering treatment activities at the Jordan River Migratory Bird Refuge and specific properties south of 12300 South in Draper. The contractor will be responsible for applying appropriate herbicides, conducting mowing operations, and generating detailed reports documenting treatment methods, chemical applications, and recommendations for future vegetation management strategies. While specific award value is not explicitly stated, the scope suggests a focused, seasonal environmental management project targeting specific invasive plant species in a defined geographical area.
