About this opportunity
This notice seeks capability statements from potential partners to provide integrated cryo-operable electronics, passive thermal case designs for lithium-ion cells, and space-grade lithium-ion cells with performance data. This will support the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Glenn Research Center in developing an integrated battery management system for the Space Technology Mission Directorate's Early Career Initiative. Capability statements are due February 27, 2024 with selection by March 1, 2024. The proposal incorporating selected partners' contributions is then due March 15, 2024 with anticipated project start of October 1, 2024.
There is no set-aside designation. Contributions would include low-temperature electronic components operable down to 50K, passive thermal case designs for protecting lithium-ion cells in lunar environments, and space-grade lithium-ion cells with performance data. This aims to enable passive cell hibernation and survival through the lunar night without degradation after thaw. The place of performance is Cleveland, OH.
