About this opportunity

The United States Air Force, 7th Contracting Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, is conducting market research for the installation of electrical equipment to power a forklift battery charger (LF3 36-160-483) at Building 4216. The project requires a contractor to provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision necessary to install a new 3-phase, 30-amp, 208-volt electrical circuit, including EMT conduit installation, electrical wiring, fusible safety disconnect installation, and battery charger connection in compliance with national electrical and safety codes. Contractors must demonstrate technical capabilities and submit capability statements that address the requirements outlined in the Statement of Work. The government is seeking responses to determine whether to proceed with sole source, set-aside, or full and open competition solicitation approaches. Interested firms must submit their Statement of Capability by 5:00 PM Central Standard Time on August 26, 2025, electronically to SSgt Samuel Gonzales at samuel.gonzales.1@us.af.mil, including company information, CAGE code, and point of contact details.

This opportunity does not involve any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors meeting the technical requirements. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation, suggesting this may be a new requirement or the first competitive procurement for this specific installation. While specific contract values or budget ranges are not disclosed in the sources sought notice, the scope involves installing approximately 200 linear feet of electric metallic tubing with #8 AWG wiring and associated electrical components. The installation work must be completed during normal business hours (0700-1600) with potential for after-hours work, and the contractor must provide a one-year warranty on all work performed. The project includes additional requirements for system schematics, maintenance manuals, base security compliance, and coordination with facility managers to minimize operational disruption. Contractors must also obtain necessary permits and follow strict base entry procedures, including identification badge requirements and vehicle licensing protocols.
