About this opportunity
The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) has issued a Special Notice for an Industry Day event related to the Protected Tactical SATCOM (PTS) Resilient (PTS-R) and PTS Global (PTS-G) satellite communication programs. The purpose of this Industry Day is to provide industry partners with information on USSF's requirements for small, maneuverable geostationary earth orbit (GEO) communication satellites and to gather feedback from industry.
The Special Notice outlines the objectives behind the PTS-G program, which aims to develop a proliferated constellation of small GEO communication satellites to enhance the resiliency and disaggregation of space-based capabilities. The Industry Day event will be held on June 13-14, 2024, with a government presentation on June 13 and optional one-on-one sessions on June 13-14. Registration and one-on-one request deadlines are set for May 31, 2024. Attendance is limited to U.S. citizens only, and participants must provide proof of citizenship. The government is seeking input from industry partners with experience in satellite communications and those capable of supporting USSF's satellite communication requirements.

Amendment: Registration deadline for Industry Day and One-on-Ones is 1600 PT on Thursday, 6 June 2024. To register for Industry Day use registration link provided below. To request One-on-Ones, email SSC.CGTC.workflow@spaceforce.mil by 1600 PT on 6 June 2024. See Instructions below for additional information.
The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Military Communications and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (MCPNT) Program Executive Office is interested in launching and operating a proliferated constellation of small Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) communication satellites to allow for greater maneuverability and resiliency.
As the United States (U.S.) and its mission partners become more reliant on space-based capabilities, the USSF is considering more resilient and disaggregated satellite constellations. The USSF Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) defined a Space Data Network Broadband Force Design that includes the Protected Tactical SATCOM (PTS) Resilient (PTS-R) satellites operating in the military Ka-band and PTS Global (PTS-G) transponded satellites operating in X-band and military Ka-band. For PTS-G, SSC is conducting further market research on commercial solutions for inexpensive, quick-to-launch small GEO communication satellites capable of repositioning between assigned International Telecommunication Union (ITU) orbital slots in the GEO arc to serve warfighters where their needs arise.
