About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Redstone Arsenal is hosting an Industry Day on 15 September 2026 to present acquisition opportunities for the Next Generation Short Range Interceptor (NGSRI) – Alternate Interceptor Demonstration (AID) program, with registration required by 0900 Central Time on 5 September 2026.
The NGSRI program addresses the Army requirement for Maneuver Short Range Air Defense (M-SHORAD) surface-to-air missile systems to replace the legacy FIM-92 Stinger. The NGSRI is a soldier-portable, fire-and-forget missile system capable of defeating rotary-wing aircraft, fixed-wing aircraft, and Group 2/3 unmanned systems. The system is backwards compatible with legacy Stinger platforms including SGT STOUT and Marine Corps Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS). The Army seeks additional potential sources to fulfill NGSRI requirements and plans to conduct a demonstration in the Spring 2027 timeframe; successful demonstration may lead to missile procurement awards.
Attendance is voluntary and not a condition for participation in subsequent procurements. The target audience comprises vendors with production-ready systems meeting NGSRI requirements who can participate in the Spring 2027 demonstration. The Industry Day agenda includes an overview, keynote address, panel discussion with Q&A, and optional one-on-one breakouts (pre-registration required). The event takes place at Intuitive Research in Huntsville, Alabama. Each organization may send up to three representatives; attendees must present a Common Access Card, driver's license, or passport for entry and should arrive between 0800 and 0845 for check-in. Contact Jazmine Robinson at jazmine.n.robinson.ctr@army.mil for inquiries.
